The Joseph O'Brien-trained Girl Like You lunged late to land the spoils in the New Tote App Nursery at the Curragh. Snapdragon sets the fractions in the six-furlong contest and had his rivals at work when skipping a couple of lengths clear over a furlong from home.
Girl Like You stuck to her task well in the closing stages though, for Declan McDonogh, and got her head in front close home for a half length success.
The 12/1 winner had been third on debut over course and distance but had been well beaten in two subsequent starts over seven furlongs.
Stable representative Sean Corby said:- “That was a good performance, she ran him down late and showed a good attitude.
“I'd say she loves to have plenty of cover and coming at them late.
“She had been a little bit disappointing since her first run but today was more like it, she showed plenty the first day here.
“She's a very strong filly, she's well put together, and it's good to see her back on the right track.”
