Geometrical (3/1) put the experience of two previous runs to good use by making all to easily land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 2-y-o Maiden at Gowran Park.

Quickly into stride under Kevin Manning, the Dawn Approach colt, a good second in winners’ company on his previous start at Naas, held a handy lead turning for home and stretched away from his rivals inside the final furlong to beat a couple of well-bred Ballydoyle newcomers, Mogul (5/4 fav) and Louisiana (5/1), by five and a half lengths and one and a quarter lengths.

The winning trainer Jim Bolger remarked: “The mile brought out the best in him,”

“He had a good run the last day, even over six furlongs.

"He's a good sort and can go anywhere now over seven to a mile. I wasn't sure he would handle that ground.”
