Farren Glory (13/8jf from 6/5) ran his rivals ragged in the opener at Clonmel this afternoon, the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle.

Fourth and second in two point-to-point starts when trained by Matt Collins, the Fame And Glory bay was subsequently sold for 60,000 pounds.

Successful on his debut for Gordon Elliott and owner Michael Earls in a bumper at Navan in March, he was fifth on his first try over flights in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse.

In calmer waters this afternoon, the Jack Kennedy ridden six-year-old raced in a share of the lead early on, gaining an outright advantage after the fourth.

Pressed before two out, he was ridden and went on again approaching the last and despite an untidy jump there, he kept on well to win by nine-and-a-half lengths.

Odds-on in early shows, Irish Panther (13/8jf) had to settle for second under JJ Slevin for Edward O'Grady, while newcomer Implicit (6/1) was a further 11-lengths away in third.

"He jumped a bit big at a couple but I'm very happy with him overall. He was keen but I think he'll settle in behind a couple of horses," Kennedy reflected.

"He did plenty with me the whole way around but still picked up well and galloped to the line. He is a lovely horse and I was impressed with him."
