Farren Glory made a bright start under rules when quickening up in good style to take the Racing Again March 29th (Pro/Am) Flat Race at Navan.

The Fame And Glory gelding showed promise in two point-to-point starts last year before joining Gordon Elliott and was well-backed here from 6/1 this morning into 3/1 at the off.

The pace was pedestrian for much of this race and Jamie Codd made the decisive move when sending Farren Glory to the front two furlongs from home.

The six-year-old was well on top inside the final furlong and kept on nicely to score by four and a half lengths. Extrapolation stayed on late to snatch the runner-up spot with Mint Boy a further length and a half back in third.

Elliott said, “He's a proper horse, he was showing us all the right signs at home and we are delighted.

“I've been friends with Michael (Earls, owner) for the last 10 or 15 years since I started training. After three years waiting, I told him this is the horse for him! If he’d had a run we could have run him at Cheltenham.

“We'll mind him, he's a horse for next year. He could go to Punchestown, but we will do the right thing for the horse. We might keep him for the winners' bumper in Galway, Michael is a Galway man."
