Fame And Acclaim battled back gamely to land the odds in the seven-furlong conditions race at Punchestown.

Joseph O'Brien 's charge was sent to post an 8/13 shot in the four-runner contest and after leading briefly he tracked Harriet's Force

Declan McDonogh hit the front a furlong-and-a-half out on the Acclamation gelding but he was headed passing the one pole by Eldama

Fame And Acclaim knuckled down to get his head back in front in the final 100 yards and went on to secure a three-parts-of-a-length success.

The winner was recording a hat-trick of wins having been successful at Cork and the Curragh in July.

Assistant Brendan Powell said:-“He had to fight for it and fought well. He’s a horse that wants to be aiming at something else.

“Because he stays a mile he’s had to commit where he did and it’s probably just as well that the second horse came sooner rather than later. The second is a nice filly.

“There is a decent race in him somewhere along the line as he’s improving all the time. He got through the ground well and goes on good as well. He’ll even stay further in time.”
