Jack Foley rode his second winner and first since joining the conditional ranks aboard Chavi Artist (7/1) in the Ryans Cleaning Handicap Chase at Punchestown.

This was a serious feather in the cap for a man of so little race riding experience, as he was soon to the fore and conjured some marvellous leaps on the way round from Chavi Artist.

The Presenting gelding is trained by Tom Mullins. The Doninga handler also supplied Foley with his other victory, Rock Chica, at Tipperary last month. Cusp Of Carabelli threatened danger over the closing couple of fences here, but Chavi Artist asserted on the run-in to prevail by four lengths.

“He was threatening to win one on his last few runs. Discordantly got away on him in Galway and he would have been a good bit closer only for that. He was first reserve in the Troytown last week but didn’t get in,” said Mullins.

“He’s a small horse but is a great jumper and Jack was great on him for a young lad and so inexperienced. He had point-to-point experience and that’s his first winner as a professional.

“He’s such a fresh horse he might take his chance in the Porterstown in Fairyhouse. Hopefully we’ll have the same rider if he can do the weight.”

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Myth Buster trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was badly hampered by a faller at the open ditch.
