The Tom Mullins trained Klepht landed the €80,000 Guinness Handicap Chase (Grade A) at Punchestown today, completing a good day's work for jockey Davy Condon who earlier landed a Grade 1 win.

The son of Great Palm appeared to have the measure of Supreme Doc when than nearest rival fell at the final fence, leaving Tranquil Sea to take second place on the run-in, eventually finishing two and a quarter lengths behind Klepht.

Afterwards Mullins stated “I've been telling the owner all year that there was a big handicap in Klepht but he won an ordinary enough beginners' chase at Wexford and I thought he got a big enough rating.

“He tends to struggle with his breathing and he should be better on better ground. We'll see what the handicapper does and he could head for the Galway Plate.”
