Leading greyhound trainer Paul Hennessy got off the mark on the horse racing front with Cheers Buddy at Dundalk back in 2011 and the County Kilkenny handler is entitled to fancy his chances on the Polytrack again, with Thywillbedone in Friday's Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap.
Joseph O'Brien rode Cheers Buddy and Hennessy turns to the former champion jockey's sister, Ana, to do the steering on Thywillbedone.
Gowran-based Hennessy has been an astute placer of his canine stars down the years and it certainly seems as though he has carried across that trait to his equine operation.
Thywillbedone begins in handicap company in this mile-and-a-half contest from the basement mark of 47. That has to be considered a workable rating when one considers that the Holy Roman Emperor filly has been showing a decent level of form over hurdles of late. She is assessed as a 104-performer in that sphere.
In the aftermath of a Punchestown maiden hurdle victory in November, Hennessy mentioned Dundalk as an option. The four-year-old since was not entirely disgraced at Grade Three level when fifth behind Rashaan at Fairyhouse.
Hennessy, who also bred and owns Thywillbedone, now steps his charge markedly up in trip, after her three previous Flat outings came over seven furlongs and an extended mile and one. This promises to suit well.
In another encouraging sign, Ana O'Brien is in the plate even though her family's Absorbing is also in the line-up, and she has been the regular pilot of that Duke Of Marmalade filly up to now. Cristy's Call and Ondamoura know what is required at Dundalk and are among the others to keep in mind.
Ana O'Brien also has prospects on Belong in the opening Big Bad Bob Maiden. Bumper winner and useful maiden hurdler Investmentsuccess is an interesting rival as he debuts at Dundalk.
The biggest prize of the night, for the winner of the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Race, could go the way of Go Kart while that one's rider Robbie Downey cannot be discounted on Poetic Choice either, in an attractive looking eight-runner www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap.
