Corstorphine landed a gamble as he made all to take the opener at Leopardstown, the Frank Conroy EBF Maiden, under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx.
Available at 20/1 last night with Paddy Power the son of Sir Percy opened on-course at 10's before going off a 5/1 chance.
The Thomas Barr owned colt finished eighth to Sanus Per Aquam on his debut at the Curragh last month.
Sent straight into the lead today was ridden and pressed from the two furlong pole.
He battled gamely under pressure to fend off all challengers, scoring by half a length at the line. Whiskey Zulu (6/1) just couldn't get by the winner and he had to settle for second under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld. Restive ran on well to take third a further neck back under Colin Keane for Ger Lyons at 12/1 (from 20's this morning and from 14's on-course).
The favourite General McArthur proved easy to back on-course (8/11 to 5/4) and he finished a disappointing fifth for Joseph and Aidan O'Brien.
John Oxx, who was recording his first juvenile winner of the season, said afterwards: "I thought he'd run well in the Curragh but he didn't run much of a race really.
"He's been working well since and I thought he'd be in the money today. He's a good genuine type and stays the trip well.
"We'll put him in something better now and see how he gets on."
