The Jessie Harrington trained Coole River ran out a 1 ? length victory of The Rockview (Q.R) Flat Race, ridden by Mark Fahy and owned by the Queens Prices Syndicate.

Eamon Leigh assistant to Harrington said afterwards, "He's a nice horse and we'll probably go hurdling with him next I doubt we'll go for another bumper with him. The syndicate also own Gemini Lucy and this is their second horse to have in training, they have been lucky owners."
