Hold Em Cowboy got a trademark Paul Carberry ride to land the Ward Union Hunt Gathering Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.

Gordon Elliott 's charge was held up in the pack in the 2m5f contest before making ground up going to the second last.

The 9/4 favourite wasn't fluent at the penultimate fence but soon travelled well to challenge and led going to the last.

Carberry only had to get to work on the run-in to keep his mount up to his task and record a cosy four-and-three-quarter length win.

“He didn't cost much and he's a good servant. He'll go for another little handicap,”commented Elliott afterwards.

The Moscow Society gelding had also won a handicap hurdle at Navan last month.
