The field was spread across the track and plenty held chances two furlongs out in the Follow Us On Instagram (Fillies) Maiden but it soon became apparent that Cambedoo (221/1) was travelling best towards the stands’ side.
When asked to lengthen by Declan McDonogh, the daughter of Muhaarar found plenty and went away to defeat the 7/4 favourite Blazing Star by three lengths.
Eighth on her only previous outing which was in a back-end maiden at Naas on soft ground, the winner is a half-sister to three winners including Tupi who won on three occasions at Listed level.
Brendan Powell, assistant to winning trainer Joseph O’Brien, said:"Her run last year on heavy was good, the form turned out ok and then had a break.
"She has done everything right at home and Declan said she travelled beautifully, was very sensible, loved the ground, quickened up very nicely and put it to bed well.
"She has matured now and while she isn't the biggest, is a good strong filly. She has a nice pedigree and no doubt Joseph will try and nick black-type somewhere and is a breeding prospect for the owners (Cayton Park Stud)".
