Bowenscourt made all to win the BETDAQ Serious About Sport Maiden Hurdle under Danny Mullins for his mother Mags.
Successful on her fifth start in a bumper at Clonmel last month, she was then fourth at the Tipperary venue on her debut over flights.
Stepped up to two and a half miles she was second to Fu's Island on her last start at Gowran, and she went off a 9/1 chance today.
Sent straight to the front she and had all her rivals off the bridle as she kicked clear on the turn for home.
She was ridden after the last and kept on well to hold off the late surge of Woodford Island by a length.
The runner-up was returned a 14/1 chance under Ruby Walsh for Gordon Elliott, while Too Many Notes (16/1) was a further nine and a half lengths back in third under Keith Donoghue for Denise Foster. Ice Cold Soul was sent off the evens favourite and he finished a disappointing fifth under Bryan Cooper for Noel Meade.
Mags Mullins said afterwards: "I'm delighted with her. She's an improving filly.
"It's nice to come up here and do it. She was in on Thursday but I was afraid the ground might go. It's a good galloping track here and fresh after the summer.
"She's a good stayer. She had two runs over hurdles and improved each day. We'll see how she comes out of this."
The winner is owned by Kieran Leavy, Lorcan Cribbin and Pauline Twiss.
STEWARDS REPORTS
The Stewards interviewed Ms Margaret Mullins, trainer of Bowenscourt, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 32(ii), in that her charge arrived into the parade ring after the signal to mount was given and reminded her of her future responsibilities in this regard.
Ms Margaret Mullins, trainer of Bowenscourt, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge was found to be injured when examined post race.
