Asbury Boss made all to win the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap, scoring under Shane Foley for Mick Halford and owner Nicholas Hartery.
Successful on his penultimate start at Listowel, the son of Dalakhani then finished eighth of thirteen behind Papa's Way over the course and distance on Derby weekend.
Available at 6/1 this morning, he opened on-course at 4's, touching 9/2 before going off a 4/1 chance.
Sent straight to the front by Foley, he was pushed along from three furlongs out, and came under pressure with two furlongs to race as Kalann came with his challenge.
The winner responded well to the whip, and kept on well from the furlong pole, going on to score by a length and a quarter.
Kalann had to settle for second under Leigh Roche for Denis Hogan at 5/1, while the 3/1 favourite (from 4's on-course) Glamorous Approach was five and a half lengths back in third under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger.
Mick Halford said afterwards: "They went a nice even gallop all the way, and he sees it out well. The last day they went a bit steady and he was taken off his feet when they quickened up.
"Shane gave him a good ride today. He stays really well and loves the ground.
"I was thinking about the amateur race at Galway but when we saw how this race was cutting up we decided to come here. We'll see how he comes out of this, and he could still go to Galway."
