In-form Robert Tyner took the concluding Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Steeplechase in Tramore with 2/1 favourite Arctic Ambition
He closed up on Lessofdnegativity on the run to the second last with the pair clear of the remainder.
The 'jolly' challenged the leader in jumping that fence and got away from it the better. He began to assert before the last and, although he reached for it, kept on to prevail by two and three quarter lengths.
Lessofdnegativity was outgunned in second at 4/1. There was a whopping 38-length gap back to 18/1 shot An Marcach
Jockey Ryan Treacy said: “They went a good gallop and Rudy Catrail was always going to make it a good test. I was happy to take my time.
“He jumps for fun and had a good run here the last day. Mary and Robert (Tyner) said to ride him with confidence and in fairness they were right.
“He was spot on for the day and it was great to get the opportunity.”
There were five winning favourites on this card.
The Stewards interviewed L. Quinlan, rider of sixth-placed Bitview Colin concerning his use of the whip in the final circuit of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted he had used his whip excessively. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that L. Quinlan was in breach of R10.3(g) frequency and having considered his record they suspended him for seven racedays.
