Paul Gilligan completed a memorable week (won the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham on Friday with Berties Dream) when Romantic Lead (6s into 9/2) took the concluding Mallow (Pro/Am) Flat Race.

This son of Sadler's Wells cut through the pack under Robert McCarth from before the straight and he went on to comprehensively outpoint One In A Milan by seven lengths.

Gilligan commented: "This fellow is Dan's (McGrath from Tullamore) first horse and it is a well-deserved win. He might go for a winners bumper, he has loads of speed and he could run over a mile and a half on the flat."
