"That's five winners and two seconds from nine runners," disclosed trainer Johnny Feane after Six Silver Lane had landed a gamble on his debut for the yard under Colm O'Donoghue in the iRadio Race Night Moore And Moyles' Mile Handicap.
In a race where Sunshinesonleith also attracted money in the offices but finished nearer last than first, 2/1 favourite Six Silver Lane led over a furlong out.
He then hung on grimly by three parts of a length and a head from Stoichkhov and Phils Wish
Feane further stated: "He likes it up this neck of the woods (a winner at Laytown and at this track before).
"The horses are running well – it's a pity the one earlier (Strategic Heights, beaten a short head in the second) didn't win.
"This fellow would probably just like it on the soft side of good back on the turf."
S. Corby, rider of Cheers Buddy trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount reared in the stalls and lost considerable ground.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Sunshinesonleith, trained by Adrian McGuinness, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal(samples were taken for analysis).
I.T. Queally, rider of Sunshinesonleith, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.
