Gigginstown supplied the 2/1 joint favourites for the bumper in Naas and the pair fought out the finish before A Genie In Abottle prevailed.

Katie Walsh had him to the fore as Jamie Codd held up the other Gigginstown representative, Blood Crazed Tiger in rear.

As the race unfolded at the furlong marker, Blood Crazed Tiger made relentless headway to close into second just behind A Genie In Abottle.

The whips were drawn on the pair but A Genie In Abottle kept finding along the rail for Carberry and even though Blood Crazed Tiger kept cutting into the lead there was half a length in it at the winning post.

Successful trainer Noel Meade said: "Nina thought she didn't make enough use of him the last day. She said to bring him to Navan or Naas and he'd win. It was a tough performance by both horse and jockey."

A Genie In Abottle was as big as 9/2 in the morning.

On Road To Riches, who was second in the Irish Gold Cup yesterday, he said: "He seems to be okay today which is good. I think they just went too quick. I'd say the champion trainer had it worked out well as the leader when went off fast and they all followed him.

"He never got into a rhythm, and was back and forth a bit in the race.

"He's only just beaten in the (Cheltenham) Gold Cup last year so I think he should go back there again. Good ground would help him but it's up to the owners which race they want to go for."
