"I think the key to him is soft ground and he is quite hardy. We bounced out, made the running and he travelled and jumped super," said Sean Flanagan after completing an across-the-card double for his boss, Noel Meade, aboard Perry Owens in the WhatOddsPaddy Handicap Hurdle at Cork. Joe Masseria did the job at Naas for the Tu Va Stables team under Dylan Browne McMonagle, and at the business end at Mallow Perry Owens fought off Capture The Action and General Clermont by a length and half a length.
The front trio were twenty lengths clear of the fourth, Djasek
"He had a super run in the Lartigue (at Listowel) and battled really well late so I knew he'd battle well. He just didn't travel well for me early in the Lartigue but I was quite confident he would come home well today. He is a tough horse and all he was looking for was that slow ground," further reflected Flanagan.
"He is on the Sales tomorrow so he should sell well."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Rock On Seamie trained by Ray Hackett, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
