It’s absolutely brilliant for the syndicate involved — my cousin Michael and his sister Mag and the sons. She was bought for a good friend of mine John Kennedy who was fighting cancer at the time. She was second in a seller and we were able to claim her for about 8,000. She won a hurdle race just before Michael died and the current syndicate have had nothing but fun with her ever since. She started off this spring and has been at nearly every Festival since. We thought she might not go on heavy ground and it’s better she’s got on heavy ground. You could see lately she was in brilliant form and she’s really strengthened. The races have taken nothing out of her. She had a bit to find on several horses in the race today but there is always a chance in an end of season race that horses may not run to form and there was a chance to sneak some black type. She was definitely going to be in the first three under two furlongs down but to win was a dream. We are dealing with cheap, low grade horses most of the time and she was low grade too at one time. We never have more than about ten horses but luckily we’ve had horses that have been able to win races this year which makes it enjoyable. I’d say she’ll race away. I had it in my head to go to Leopardstown at Christmas for a hurdle race but I don’t know if that will happen now. She has a mark over hurdles that you’d say she might be able to compete off but we’ll have to

Days like this make it all worthwhile. These two won at Tramore a fortnight ago and have been in super form since so we said we'd go again with them. . The four wins were all quite similar with front-running tactics and she got an easy lead again tonight. I enjoy working with the horses. We're a small operation and you need to be getting the odd result to keep going at the game and days like this are a bit of a boost all right. We have some very loyal owners and a small staff who work very hard. This mare will go to Galway on Wednesday week for a mares' handicap hurdle. She ran in it last year.

That's lovely, I was hoping she'd run well. I thought she ran well in Ballinrobe. She is a good, genuine and consistent filly. In fairness, Mikey was good on her and maybe caught them unawares. He built up a lead and, when he didn't have to go for her too early, I was hopeful that she would get home. . She won here before over hurdles at the August Festival and Mikey said that she went around on rollers today, so she likes the track. She is a prolific winner at this stage, she has won six races. . I'm delighted for the owners, they are a syndicate of relations of mine. They have Goatsbridge Trout Farm down in Kilkenny. . She will probably go to Galway now for the mares' handicap hurdle before coming back here in August for the Festival. We will play it by ear.

She loves it here. It's nice to win here at my local track and the owners are local. Dylan gave her a lovely ride, he got all the fractions right. He got an easy enough time of it and she seems to like being handy and dictating. We could maybe go back over hurdles with her, she'll definitely mix it during the summer. When you have a dual purpose horse you have plenty of options. We'll maybe look at Galway and some of those nice places. Some relations of mine own her and it's an interesting story with her. She was bought a year-and-a-half ago for a close friend of mine who was fighting cancer and unfortunately he passed away last August and she went to the sales. Michael Donohoe bought her for his sister Mag who is having health issues as well. She is here tonight, is in great form and flying. This will give her a boost and everybody is getting a bit out of her.

That was a little bit unexpected as I thought she might need the run. We had a good time with her over hurdles last year and I thought she had a favourable mark on the Flat and she put that right today. She may have got a bit tired in the last furlong and hopefully she will improve from it. Dylan gave her a lovely ride and she’s tough once she gets on the front end. The plan is to mix it between Flat and hurdles. She might even try a chase later on in the year. She jumps for fun.

That took a bit of time and it’s an important winner as her owner John Kennedy hasn’t had the best of health lately so that will definitely help him. He’s been a friend of mine for donkey’s years and he owned the first winner I ever had. We got her out of a Lingfield seller last year and she has taken her time to find a bit of form. The race cut up a bit and I was thinking she would go on the ground. We knew she was in good form.
