'the amateur' gave that a fair ride!. Universal Truth jumped very well, not jump at that final flight, and he knew his job - we schooled him well at home. The runner-up looks very decent so it was a good performance to win.

Plans are up in the air for this horse. We will see what the handicapper does after this. He has lots of options and he's very adaptable ground wise and he has schooled well over hurdles.

the ground wasn't ideal for Universal Truth and if he doesn't go to Punchestown for the Champion Bumper, he will run in a Flat maiden.

He did it nicely, I'm pleased for Dr Lambe and we'll speak to him as he's three nice horses that all have entries for the Cheltenham Bumper and we'll see how they are and make a decision then. It's a nice position to be in, if the ground is good we might run two but if the ground is testing we'll only run one.

He's a nice horse, that was the minium distance to keep us warm. We had the race well won he just got tired close home and nearly got caught. We will look for a 4 year old winners bumper with him next.
