The Aidan O'Brien-trained Alabama failed to justified favouritism for the second time in as many starts, as he was upstaged by stable companion The Liffey in the Oak Solutions Group Irish EBF 2yo Maiden. Wed 07th Jun
After race at Killarney Tue, 14th May, 2024 (1st)
He is a lovely horse, he got gelded last year and it was his first run in a handicap. He concentrated more today and while I was worried about the ground, Dusty (Foley) said he handled it fine. He had good runs in maidens last year, but probably trained off on his last run. He has improved and will want further. Dusty said they went very quick today and it fell into his lap, but we were using a jockey who is riding with so much confidence at the moment. I left tactics to him and at one stage he was five lengths last, but he is on fire. We have him riding work at the Curragh two or three days a week and that is making an awful difference.
