He's so genuine and so good to jump that he's always in the shake-up. He goes on any ground and it's great to win again with him. I said to the lads today that he shouldn't be winning but he could win. There is a race for him in Thurles three weeks from today and he'll go for that. There should be a hurdle in him as well. He ran badly in Clonmel but he wasn't right that day.

that's the cream on the cake after the other day! . The place (his own native Thurles) went mad after he won on Saturday and it was like Cheltenham — I never saw anything like it. I heard this hullabaloo in the stand and I never heard anything like it at Thurles. I had other good winners, that we backed and everything, but that winner was brilliant. he is a grand oul' horse. He'll get more weight for winning but I wouldn't be surprised to see him win again. He is genuine out and is a great jumper; when you're good to jump like that, you have a right chance. He doesn't win every day but he'll be in the money and he goes on any ground. He'll go for a little hurdle race next as he is well handicapped over hurdles.

There is plenty of weight to come off me, I've done that weight a good few times, so it's unfortunate. I thought his Tramore run was improved but he was taking on an impossible on then. I said he had improved but he was 5lbs overweight so we were only hoping at the finish. It was great he got to run as he was nearly pulled out by the Stewards. We were in before them until the last minute and it was touch and go whether he'd be allowed run. It's unreal to have a winner again here- I think the last winner I had here I rode it myself! She was the grandam (My Puttens) of Denman and it was too many years ago to remember- some time in the early 80s.

He lost a shoe before the race and we were nearly withdrawing him. I got a farrier at the track and it's turned out to be a lucky shoe!. He's a real chaser and we said we might sneak a hurdle with him. He nearly fell at the first and then he jumped the height of the shed over the second. I told Andrew to just creep away and see what happens. He stays further and I'm delighted with him.
