She was probably a little bit unlucky the last day and didn't get the gap when she needed it. She did it very well - I didn't expect her to win by that far. She's a good filly to have, she's a fun filly. She had a bad experience in the north in the summer - I thought the track wasn't riding great and was a little bit jarred when she came back from that. You just kind of have to keep her sweet. It is a pity that it is right at the end of the season when she has decided that she loves it again, but she was good. It is just a pity that the only other race for her is the last day of the Flat up the Curragh. The last hurrah on grass we are restricted to what jockeys we can use. There are five furlong races for claimers and jockeys who haven't ridden 10 winners. I think that is extremely unfair, they have the whole of Dundalk. There are races there (Dundalk) for jockeys who have a limited amount of winners. I'm aware that I have a limited amount of winners as a trainer, but I have only a small string and it is such a help to have the likes of Chris Hayes or Colin Keane on her. It makes all the difference to me and the owner.

The jockeys were all saying it was very dead on the far rail. so I just said 'can we come over this side?'. When they jumped out, I thought I had perhaps overcomplicated my instructions, but he (Chris Hayes) did it to a tee. Screeny was very good as well, she was coming there well. It's great because Trevor (Dalzell, owner) is here today and he hasn't been there for her other wins. I'm delighted. She ran so well the last day and the form was working out well. She is actually the only one I have to run at the minute, so the pressure was on! I have a very small string this year.

That was great and I was hoping for a bit more ease but she was good there and really enjoys this place. It was a mares' race she won last year and if I could find another race here it would be great. I think it is a super sprint track and I wish they would use it a bit more often. It was close and there's no harm in a bit of competition but dad is probably giving out because I beat him!

I know the family well and have a good few of the relations at home. Dad has her brother Linus Larrabee and there is a full sister to come to me later in the year so I'm delighted. She was a little weak last year but has strengthened up, is learning and hopefully we'll have a bit of fun with her. I have really cut down my numbers and last year I was giving everything multiple chances. Even bringing a box of them up here costs a fortune and I believe in being honest with the owners and I don't want to be a busy fool. I said if they weren't going to be competitive I don't need them and I put a lot of work into rehoming them. I've found many nice homes, and while some are nice pets, I've sent horses to polo-crosse and others are now jumping poles, so it is worth the effort. I have eight riding out, would love a few more but nice horses bring each other on and if they were all like this filly I'd be happy enough.
