He’s a ten-year-old now and that’s 11 races that he’s won, he’s a brilliant servant. He’s been a bit in and out this year but would have won here two runs ago when he stumbled at the back of the last so he deserved that. Looking at the race he was meeting them all wrong at the weights but they are all old horses and have two ways of running at this stage so we said we’d take our chance. Hopefully the handicapper won’t react too harshly. They are hard horses to place. We pulled him out of Galway because of the ground and then we ran on similar ground here. It’s loose here so we got away with it. Extreme trips suit him and if we could get three and a half miles that would be great. Daniel gave him a lovely ride and had him in all the right places.

That's not the way to ride him but I had no choice as there was no pace,. I was desperate for Darragh (O’Keeffe, on Holymacapony) to give me a hand out but he was cute enough and pulled back. He was putting down and didn't get going until something came up on his outside and shoved him on. After a couple of cracks it was away with him. He gave the last loads of air and I had plenty of horse. That's even a bit short for him, he'd love extended distances like three-mile-one or two. He's probably a horse for some of those summer nationals like the Midlands National.

He was always going to be a chaser. He had a nice run in Thurles,. He's a horse we had earmarked for Galway and he might go for a novice chase there. Whatever he did over hurdles was a bonus, and he won three times, so you'd imagine he'll have a big career novice chasing. He loves three miles plus and good ground. He's a very nice jumper and Sean gave him a lovely introduction. You couldn't be happier and he's exciting to have.

He's a grand old horse,. He jumped for fun and didn't stop, he's all heart. He's improving the whole time and he gives you his all. Yeah brilliant (to get the ride). Denis is suspended - unfortunate for him but fortunate for me. He's been super to me since I turned (conditional) and even for the two boys to let me ride him, I'm just grateful. Hopefully we can stay going. I'd be in Denis' a few days a week and after that I go wherever I have to go. The two men that own him are absolute gents, I'm delighted for them. You couldn't meet nicer than them.

That was brilliant. He was gutsy and loved the battle,. When I entered him I wasn't sure was I going to be able to run with the ratings but if you don't run them you don't win anything. I don't think the handicapper can react too much because I went through the form of the others and their ratings had maybe been got through good placing by Gordon. I didn't think in a handicap that they would have run to marks in the 130s. I'm thrilled with this lad. He's always had a big future and he's still improving all the time. Chasing will be the job long term. He's owned by some good guys, Michael Moloney, Pat Gilmartin and John Gilmartin. They've been with me a long time. He won a bumper here last year and he's been placed a lot of times. They've got some great days out of him. He'll go to Galway now, whether he runs in the three-mile handicap or the two-and-a-half novice. Killarney might come a bit soon. He's a nice horse to have going forward. He wants all of that three miles. We didn't go mad there so I had to get involved a bit sooner than ideal but it worked out well.

He could have jumped a bit better, and I really had to ask him at a lot of the hurdles. Coming out of the back I always thought that I’d get there but then Jack (Kennedy, on Foxy Jacks) slipped a few lengths on me and Bryan (Cooper)’s horse (Asbury Boss) broke down and I was lucky to get by him. This is a nice horse and he won two bumpers last year. He’s always been threatening to do that but he needs a trip. Even over two and a half miles you are always on your head, and three miles around here was ideal. The beauty of now is that he’s a novice for all of this season and those rated novice races will suit him. We’ve had five winners in the last ten days and it’s great when they are running well. There is a good buzz about the yard.

Barry gave him a lovely ride. It was a small field but it looked a strong bumper on paper. It's only ten days since he was third in a maiden hurdle and he'd only one bit of minor work since so I was hopeful rather than confident. I'm delighted for the owner (Michael Moloney) who has been with me a while and this looks a promising horse. He was third in a point-to-point to Danny Kirwan and could have been sold but he's repaid him now. He’ll go hurdling now. The horses are running well and hopefully we can go on now and have a good summer.
