Streets Of Doyen proved a fortuitous winner of the Paul & Carmel Fay Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan when inheriting the lead at the last.

Tom Gibney 's charge looked booked for third as My Design and Macgiloney fought it out going to the last flight in the three-miler.

Both crashed out independently at the final flight though and Street Of Doyen was there to pick up the pieces.

Kieran Callaghan kept the 15/2 shot going on the run-in to record a two-and-a-quarter length win over Waitnsee

“You can't beat a bit of luck!” said Gibney.

“I didn't know what was going to happen today with that fella as he would have a mind of his own.

“I was just delighted to see him travelling and the better ground would be a big thing for him.

“I shouldn't have run him at Easter (pulled up at Fairyhouse), that was a poor decision on my behalf.

“We have him back going well and this was a lovely pot. In fairness to Kilbeggan they put on good prize-money and it's brilliant to be able to get a result here.

“We'll keep tipping away with him.”
