After race at Punchestown Tue, 25th Apr, 2017 (1st)
It's been on our minds ever since Cheltenham and Aintree 'are we going one step too far',. He's just progressed into a beautiful young horse. Obviously this is his minimum trip but he was good enough to win this and very nearly win a Champion Chase. This just looked lovely (for him). He did had three months off in the middle of the season when he cut into himself at Cheltenham so it's not like he's been on the go all the time. He's the one horse we thought we could bring here and he's shown it all. You've got to stay in every race and he's got that about him. Luckily enough when he came on the market Alan and Ann Potts wanted the horse. It doesn't always turn out but he has. Robbie was cool. He didn't get involved in any battles until he had to. The horse made a few mistakes and Robbie said he was going flat out the whole time. If you saw this horse on the gallops you'd never think he was a champion two miler. Honestly slow three milers would beat him. This is why we get up in the morning and why we go looking at horses to come and win at places like Punchestown. It's fantastic.

After race at Aintree Fri, 7th Apr, 2017 (1st)
When I schooled him at Colin's last week I had no doubt two and a half miles would play to his strengths and he's travelled everywhere, jumped from fence to fence. He was never in any danger and running down to the last he met it well. He's a very classy horse and he could well be a King George horse, he could be as good over further, he's a very relaxed horse and has a great cruising speed. If we got nice ground that could be the race for him. It's lovely when this happens, especially after what it was like at Cheltenham, that was hard work. This boy could have won the Champion Chase, there wasn't much in it and he's got better with the trip, I think. It took all of two miles last year for him to get into third in the Arkle. He's not very fast at home when you think he would be but I think he'll make up into a King George horse. That's seven Grade Ones this season which is lovely. We had a good time early in the season and then we had to go through a bit of pain, but that's all gone now.
