Three in a week for Ardglen
Ardglen showed real guts at Clonmel in getting up to beat long-time leader Hatton’s Wood to land his third handicap chase win in a week. Sun 25th SepButler shines on Bound
Heavenly Bound came with a strong surge to claim the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan. Fri 19th AugBeans Spill leaves Casey on Top
Casey Top (7/1 into 3/1) came from the point-to-point fields with a tall reputation and after winning one handicap hurdle the Topanoora gelding got his chasing career off to the perfect start by landing the Tyrrellspass Novice Chase under Paul Carberry at Kilbeggan. He was deputising for the injured Bryan Cooper (finger injury expected to be out for ten days) and he was bringing his score to two on the evening following the win on Tom Horn half-an-hour earlier. Mon 20th JunReview clonmel 8th Jun
The Tom Cooper-trained Eightybarackstreet broke his duck over jumps with a bloodless success at ClonmelWed 08th Jun
Flanagan shows his worth
Sean Flanagan is soon to be departing these shores and showed Irish trainers what they will be missing when giving Dashing Ruby a fine ride to claim the Moangarriffe Beginners Chase at Clonmel. Wed 08th JunReview kilbeggan 11th Sep
Trainer Edward O'Grady and jockey Andrew McNamara stole the honours at Kilbeggan thanks to a double with Newt Town Bay and Jack FinchFri 11th Sep
O'Grady & McNamara double up with Jack
Jack Finch, became the third winner of the day to have previously scored over the course (College Daisy and Dashing Ruby the other two) when he held off See Double You by a head in the Dunbia Handicap Chase. In the process the Overbury gelding was bringing up over a 42/1 double for Edward O'Grady and Andrew McNamara. The pair had earlier been on the mark with New Town Bay. Fri 11th SepDashing Ruby on the mark again at Kilbeggan
After the win of College Daisy, course-winning form again proved the key as Dashing Ruby led before three out and his fluent hurdling enabled him to beat off Tuscany Star (mistake five out and lost the lead and a number of places), who rallied but got the last wrong also, by four lengths, in the Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle. Fri 11th SepFlynn's good run continues
Paul Flynn who is enjoying a good time of it saddled his 5th winner in nine days after 9/1 shot Dashing Ruby landed the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle in the hands of Donal MacAuley. Fri 21st Aug
After race at Clonmel Wed, 8th Jun, 2011 (1st)
He hasn't won for a long-time but I fancied him at Ballinrobe last time only for him to disappoint,. Maybe he's just too high over hurdles. I'm not sure how good a race that was but hopefully he can make a better chaser than a hurdler.

After race at Kilbeggan Fri, 11th Sep, 2009 (1st)
I told the owner (Martin Campbell) that he wouldn't win because I thought the ground would be too soft. I'm hoping he'll be better on better ground and if he is we have something to look forward to. He'll have no trouble getting three miles.
