An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when the winner, Broad Appeal (GB), ridden by Mr James Harding, who interfered with Kismat (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Miss Georgia King, who in turn interfered with BANKSY’S ART, placed fifth, ridden by Mr Guy Mitchell.

Being 7lb claiming apprentices, Mr Mitchell and Miss King were offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, Mr Mitchell denied and Miss King was accompanied by the Trainer.

Mr Harding was suspended for 3 days, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without correction causing Miss King to take a check while being carried off her intended line onto Mr Mitchell, in turn, causing him to momentarily stop riding.

The Clerk of the Scales objected to William Hunter (GB), unplaced, ridden by Mr Jamie Neild, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 10st 3lb having weighed out at 10st 5lb.

They interviewed the rider, Nigel Twiston-Davies’ representative, and the Clerk of the Scales.

William Hunter (GB) was disqualified.

As the Stewards were unable to establish an explanation for the weight difference, Mr Neild was suspended for 1 day, on a date to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority and Twiston-Davies was fined £250.

Following the race, Miss Jessica Llewellyn reported that Borak (IRE), placed eighth, was slowly away.
