After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving El Caballo (GB), placed third, ridden by Clifford Lee and Gorak (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Neil Callan.

The interference was found to be accidental as Lee had committed El Caballo (GB) for a tight but legitimate gap between The Astrologist (AUS), placed second, and Gorak (FR) before Callan’s mount had edged slightly left- handed crowding El Caballo (GB) for room, resulting in that colt making contact with the hind quarters of The Astrologist (AUS) which itself became unbalanced and shifted marginally right-handed compounding the interference suffered by El Caballo (GB).

Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that El Caballo (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run on several occasions from approaching 1f out.
