I'm disappointed with Mikael D'Haguenet - you'd have to say that. I'll have to think of plans now for him. On ratings there wasn't much between the two of them but the other fellow (Mourad) just found his form this year for the first time.

He seems to be improving and looks to be getting stronger with age,. He did that on ground that I don't think he particularly likes and he'll be better on better ground. Paul was very cool on him. It's looks like we are on track for the World Hurdle.

Leopardstown Tue, 28th Dec, 2010 (1st)
The race conditions suited him though I was afraid of the heavy ground. He will go for the stayers hurdle at Cheltenham but will maybe have one or two runs before then if I can find a race like that. Paul (Townend) gave him a smashing ride and he said that the ground was very heavy which wouldnt have suited Mourad at all.

The trip seems to suit him and it was probably a blessing in disguise that he missed Cheltenham,. We'll go to Punchestown now and I think I have him in the stayers hurdle. He's never been to three miles but I think he'll be better over longer. He'll improve as well for better ground and I was surprised he won on that ground. I was thinking about pulling him out this morning but having missed Cheltenham didn't want to disappoint the owners and decided to run.

At last! The extra trip helped and he'll be going up in trip for the rest of the season - two miles four plus. I have no big plan, he's in the Stayers Hurdle but he'd want to be winning like he did today to justify that. He told me nothing today that I didn't already know about him.
