I’d say he jumped better than ever there. Danny said he got an easy lead and he took advantage of it - it was a great ride.

He's going to improve from that run. He got to the front too soon but in fairness to Brian they were all stopping around him. When he got to the front he did nothing, although the loose horse was a help to him.

he was good. He loved it and I was delighted with him. He'll go straight for the Galway Hurdle now. It's been the plan for three years but two years ago he got hurt and last year he tore the leg off himself at Punchestown. Hopefully he's alright in the morning - I walked the track before as I was afraid of my life and if there had been firm in it he wouldn't have run. That'll leave him spot on for Galway. Please God he'll get there safe and sound. Patrick (Mullins) said after they turned out of the back, it was all over as he was travelling so easily.

I couldn't be happier - we're so used to being second so it's good to come here and win. The better ground helped; they were giving it as heavy two days ago but it dried out a lot in the last couple of days. He jumped well today, never put a foot wrong, and I'd say that's the best he's ever jumped. He also did something today which he hasn't ever done and that is settle; Andrew (McNamara) said going to the start he thought there was something wrong with him but we've done a lot of work at home getting him settled and I have to thank my staff who have put in a lot of work. Over two miles he's good and he has plenty of cruising gears and I'll to speak to the owners but I'd say the Queen Mother is the plan and he'll go straight to Cheltenham now.

Listowel Fri, 20th Sep, 2013 (1st)
He ran well considering that he was a bit sketchy with his jumping. Andrew tried to put him right at the last but he ended up putting him completely wrong . but in fairness he gave him a great ride. He gave him a confident ride. He took a lead and below turning in it was all over.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Gowran Park Sat, 24th Nov, 2012 (1st)
He is a lot better out in front. Everyone was knocking him for his jumping but they can't after today. I am delighted with his jumping. I will speak to his owners now but the Lexus at Leopardstown looks the likely race. They probably didn't go fast enough for him the last day and he likes a stronger pace. A lot of the Stowaway's like to be out in front.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Naas Mon, 29th Oct, 2012 (1st)
He hadn't run for 9 months so he wouldn't have been spot on for this. He'll improve in his fitness and jumping. He's going to be a three mile chaser and today was only two miles. Andrew said he was a bit leery after the last but he had plenty in the tank. He would want to improve his jumping, but he won't run at two miles. He'll be up to two and a half. There's a nice race for him at Gowran in a month's time. He's won twice at Leopardstown so there's no reason we wouldn't go for the Lexus.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Leopardstown Thu, 29th Dec, 2011 (1st)
He wasn't 100% and will improve a good bit. His jumping was good but Andrew said it would have to improve to move up to graded class. He idled halfway up the straight and met the last wrong. There's a winners of one at Fairyhouse at the end of January and he'll go there. We haven't made our minds up about Cheltenham. That was a fair race and he did it well but he'll have to improve to be a Cheltenham horse. You're always a bit afraid first time over fences. Cheltenham is a long way away and we'll talk to the owners. He'll have three or four races this season.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Navan Sun, 13th Mar, 2011 (1st)
I was delighted with that today. He jumped the way I wanted him to,. He really shouldn't have been here but for the way he jumped at Thurles last time. We've worked a lot with him at home to get his head right. Andrew said for the first time he behaved himself.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Thurles Thu, 24th Feb, 2011 (1st)
Andrew felt he didn't like the track, and that they didn't go fast enough. I said beforehand that this would be it for the season but I'll have to discuss plans again with the owners as I'd like to get his jumping better. It's possible he could go to Navan for a novice next month.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Leopardstown Sun, 23rd Jan, 2011 (1st)
We schooled him since the last day and he jumped pretty well. We wanted to get a lead but they were not going quick enough and Andrew did the right thing by going on. He won't ever go back in trip again. I'll have to talk it over with the owners but I'm not overly keen on going to Cheltenham. He needs cut in the ground, and I hope he'll make a top class chaser. He'll probably have one more run this season.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Navan Sun, 7th Nov, 2010 (1st)
I've always said from day one that I think the world of this horse. His jumping was a bit sticky but Andrew said that when they go quicker that he'll jump better. I hope he's right as he'll need to jump better if he's to go for the top novice races. He needs at least two and a half miles,.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Tipperary Tue, 5th Oct, 2010 (1st)
I thought he was a good horse the day he won his bumper, and it takes a fair one to win first time over hurdles. He's the best I've had since Western Leader, who was also by Stowaway. He'll probably go now to Galway, and then hopefully on to Navan for the Barry & Sandra Kelly Hurdle. He's a big striding horse, and I think a faster pace will suit him better,.
John Joseph Hanlon
After race at
Gowran Park Wed, 14th Apr, 2010 (1st)
He's a good horse. I know I lost a good horse but I said on the night at least I have the next best one in the yard,. We'll give him a bit of time off and bring him back for a winners race in Galway. It's great after losing the other one to have a nice horse.
