At the request of the rider, the Veterinary Surgeon examined Capard King (IRE) at the start and all concerned deemed the gelding fit to run.
Ryan Mania subsequently reported that he pulled Capard King (IRE) up after the gelding made a bad mistake at the third fence and lost action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Capard King (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, N W Alexander reported that Chanting Hill (IRE), placed fifth, may be feeling the effects of a long season.
