Permission was given for Highdawn (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only, In Arrears (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute and This Breac (IRE) to go early to post.
Leaving the home straight on the second circuit, Royal Act (GB), placed fifth, edged right-handed for a stride, causing Kiwi Myth (GB), placed fourth, to be tightened for room and lose its position, resulting in This Breac (IRE), which was later pulled up, having to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Royal Act (GB) or Kiwi Myth (GB).
At the end of the back straight on the second circuit, Kiwi Myth (GB), placed fourth, edged right-handed, momentarily making contact with Inspireus (IRE), placed sixth, and causing that gelding to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Kiwi Myth (GB).
Following the race, Sean Houlihan reported that Highdawn (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
Bryony Frost reported that This Breac (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
