The winner, Cheque En Blanc (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Fontwell Park on 21 October 2020 where the gelding finished seventh of the eight finishers, beaten by 38¾ lengths, over 2 miles 5½ furlongs.
Gary Moore’s explanation that Cheque En Blanc (FR) had benefitted from the step up in trip to 3 miles 2 furlongs on this occasion, as well as the drop down in class to a Class 5 having previously contested a Class 4, was noted.
Cheque En Blanc (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race, Robbie Power reported that Exxaro (IRE), which was pulled up after jumping the final fence, was never travelling.
