Permission was given for Jaycols Star (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the fourth-last fence when the winner, Crossley Tender (GB), ridden by Nick Scholfield, interfered with Clondaw Rigger (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Ben Poste, which in turn interfered with Tommy The Rascal (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Brendan Powell.
The interference was found to be accidental as Crossley Tender (GB) had shifted sharply right- handed, resulting in Clondaw Rigger (IRE) being carried off its intended line which in turn caused Tommy The Rascal (GB) to be hampered.
Following the race, Shane Quinlan reported that Jaycols Star (GB), placed seventh, made a bad mistake at the fourth-last fence and Katy Price reported that the gelding had a breathing problem; the Veterinary Officer reported that Jaycols Star (GB) finished lame on its left-fore.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Dont Be Robin (IRE), placed third, lost its left-hind shoe and Tommy The Rascal (GB), placed sixth, lost both its left and right-hind shoes.
