Permission was given for Bob Ford (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
The winner, Knockanrawley (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 18 February 2019 where the gelding was pulled up.
Kim Bailey’s explanation that the gelding benefited from running in a less competitive veteran’s race, and was suited by the reapplication of a visor was noted.
Knockanrawley (IRE) was routine tested.
The performance of Bob Ford (IRE) which was pulled up, was considered.
Sam Twiston-Davies reported that Bob Ford (IRE) was never travelling and Alastair Ralph’s explanation that the race may have come too soon for the gelding, having raced four days previously at Uttoxeter was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Bob Ford (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Lucy Alexander reported that Buffalo Ballet (GB), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
