Notebook (GER) and Put The Kettle On (IRE) wore ear plugs which were removed at the start.
Notebook (GER), ridden by Rachael Blackmore, and Put The Kettle On (IRE), ridden by Aidan Coleman, both trained by Henry de Bromhead, failed to parade.
Blackmore and Coleman reported that their mounts had become very fractious in the preliminaries and were reluctant to parade, and as such had been given permission from a Racecourse Executive not to parade, a fact that had been confirmed by the Racecourse Director.
Being satisfied that every effort had been made to parade, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the final bend involving Chacun Pour Soi (FR), placed third, ridden by P Townend, Rouge Vif (FR), unplaced, ridden by Gavin Sheehan, and Sceau Royal (FR), placed fifth, ridden by Daryl Jacob.
The interference to Jacob was found to be accidental as he jumped into a pocket on the inside of Sheehan and due to the configuration of the rail, became tight for room when improving on the inside of Sheehan and stumbled.
Townend was suspended for 2 days for careless riding, as he shifted slightly left when insufficiently clear causing Sheehan to become very tight for room and take a check.
