An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after the last hurdle involving the winner Not What It Seems (IRE), ridden by Emma Smith-Chaston and Ballyporeen (IRE), placed second, ridden by Nathan Moscrop.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved NOT WHAT IT SEEM (IRE)’s placing as that gelding always appeared to be holding Ballyporeen (IRE), and Moscrop’s mount appeared to lose no momentum as a result of the interference to be beaten by a head at the line.
Smith-Chaston was cautioned for careless riding as she had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent her mount from drifting right-handed causing BALLPOREEN (IRE) to be intimidated off its intended line.
Following the race, Aaron Anderson reported that Octavius Sabini (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
