Ascot Week was routine tested.
The winner, Captain Pugwash (IRE) appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Haydock on 27 April 2019 where the gelding finished thirteenth of fourteen, beaten 38 lengths.
Stef Keniry’s representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from being able to dominate in a slowly run race was noted.
Following the race, P J McDonald reported that Mr Coco Bean (USA), placed seventh, ran too free.
