The winner, Ultimatum Du Roy (FR), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Warwick on 31 December 2019, where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten 34¼ lengths.
The representative of Alex Hales explained that Ultimatum Du Roy (FR) was suited by the return to Market Rasen where the gelding has run well previously; Ultimatum Du Roy (FR) was routine tested.
The performance of Balgemmois (FR), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
