The performance of Flying Verse (GB), which started favourite and finished last of six runners, was considered.
David Dennis explained that the race may have come too soon following the gelding’s previous race 7 days ago over fences.
The winner, Aye Aye Charlie (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Stratford on 29 July 2021, where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten 15¼ lengths.
Christian Williams’ representative explained that Aye Aye Charlie (GB) appreciated being able to dictate the pace of the race from the front on this occasion and benefitted from the lower grade race.
The gelding was routine tested.
