Permission was given for Mordred (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Decora (IRE), ridden by Marc Goldstein and trained by Sheena West, which appeared to be tenderly handled in the home straight to finish fourth of twelve, beaten by 16 lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities other than Decora (IRE) had sustained a wound to its right-fore and left-fore cannon.
The rider stated his instructions were to get the filly settled, jumping in a rhythm and creep into the race.
He added that Decora (IRE) made a few jumping mistakes passing the stands when the tempo increased after which he decided to track the second-favourite San Fermin (IRE) to give the filly cover at her hurdles.
He further added that after making a mistake at the second-last hurdle he felt Decora (IRE) had exerted its maximum effort, staying on one paced passing tiring horses and in his opinion had achieved the best possible placing.
His explanation was noted.
