The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Nemonte, ridden by M.W Hassett, placed fifth, and Ribchestina, ridden by R.C. Colgan placed third, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.W. Hassett stated that R.C

Colgan leaned in on top of him but there was no contact. R.C. Colgan stated that he drifted to the rail after the winner as he didn't hear a shout. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. However, they were satisfied that R.C. Colgan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard(first offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one raceday

R.C. Colgan, rider of Ribchestina, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount drifted left after the winner.
