An enquiry was held to consider interference after the second last hurdle involving Dubai Guest (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Harry Skelton and Flexi Furlough (IRE), placed second, ridden by Theo Gillard.
Skelton was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction causing Flexi Furlough to be carried off its intended line and clip heels.
The winner, Millie The Minx (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Musselburgh on 26 March 2021 where the mare finished seventh of eleven, beaten 34 lengths.
Dianne Sayer’s explanation that the mare settled better in front today having worn blinkers last time, and appreciated the drop in grade, was noted.
Millie The Minx (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Conor O’Farrell reported that Kildrum (IRE), which was pulled up, made a mistake at the first hurdle and was never travelling thereafter; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
