Prior to this race, Andrew Martin was asked to explain why he was running CHARLIE’S GLANCE here at Worcester on going described as Good, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Chepstow on 18 April 2022 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that in his opinion, the ground at Chepstow was on the easy side of good and it was a more level surface at Worcester, which CHARLIE’S GLANCE is better suited too.
Jonjo O’Neill, the rider of Halifax, placed second, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from the second last fence.
Following the race, Fergus Gregory reported that Patient Dream (FR), placed third, hung right-handed in the straight.
