Rhiain Ingram, the rider of Miss Pollyanna (IRE), was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in her horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ingram’s explanation that the blind became caught on the bridle on her first attempt and required a second attempt to remove, was noted.
Following the race, Rhiain Ingram reported that Miss Pollyanna (IRE), unplaced, ran keen and the Veterinary Officer reported that Highway Robbery (GB), which finished last of the eleven runners, found the gelding to be suffering from atrial fibrillation.
