The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Cerca Trova, trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have sustained significant skin abrasions to both hind limbs in running. J.M. Moore, rider of Cerca Trova trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly throughout and was pulled up thereafter. The Stewards requested a report from Liam Casey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Carole Rose, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that a combination of a drop back in trip in what he felt was a weaker contest, had in his opinion, brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards mares only (116 = 11st 10lb)
