Cilaos Glace (FR) wore ear plugs which were removed at the start.
The winner, Earth Moor (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 22 February 2020 where the gelding finished twelfth of seventeen, beaten by 16 ¾ lengths.
It was noted that Philip Hobbs could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form, except that Earth Moor (IRE) appeared to prefer Wincanton.
The performance of Midnight Midge (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Ron Hodges' representative's explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the 2m 5f trip on the Soft, Heavy in places going, which in their opinion was testing, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Midnight Midge (GB), during routine testing shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
