The representative of Michael Appleby, the trainer of Rhyme Scheme (IRE), reported that the filly ran without a tongue strap because it had come adrift and could not be re-fitted, but as Rhyme Scheme (IRE) won the race, they were unsure if the lack of tongue strap adversely affected the performance of the filly.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Rhyme Scheme (IRE), had bled from the nose.
